Pumpkin Picking

Cora's first Halloween! This is the last of the firsts when it comes to holidays--she's already had a First Thanksgiving and so forth. She's about to start to start round two! The good part is she's getting old enough to enjoy these events, in her own way.

So we went to the pumpkin farm today.

"How Tall This Fall?"
Pretty tall. And extra cute.

Off to check out some newborn piglets:

And chickens in a box:
And itty-bitty fuzzy ones:

Then stop for some pumpkin doughnuts and apple cider:

Cora's reaction to a taste of doughnut:

And then we search for our perfect pumpkins.

Where did that baby go? She was here just a minute ago . . .

Oh, there she is!

Let's briefly humor Mom:
Cora has a serious conversation with this one while Dad is picking out his:

My girl-o:

The best for last, in my opinion:

Ha!

My comment is first! I beat Greg!

And by the way, no pumpkins were harmed in writing of this post.

But not by a whole lot.
Gosh but you guys are swell. This is the farm on Aptakisic and Buffalo Grove Road?
I go by that one on my way to work.

A cute pumpkin in a pumpkin patch - what could be better.
You guys are showing her the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown - right? She might be little but you can never teach the great line "Can I have a piece of candy for my stupid brother?" too early just in case... It was too great when Ashley said that during trick or treating when Alex would get tired and not want to go up to the house. She usually got even more candy just for being cute.

She's too sweet. I'm guessing when she's old enough to go trick-or-treating for bags of candy you'll be able to simply sit her on the porch, and people will just bring the candy to her.

Cora has one more first coming.
She is approaching her first BIRTHDAY!
The best holiday of all because it's all about her.
