Time for the annual reunion picnic! You remember
this group--you take a handful of couples who become friends around 1970 or so, and four decades later their grandkids are tossing water balloons together. Meeting up in centrally located New Buffalo, Michigan, in May has become a new tradition.
Everyone getting ready for lunch:

Grandpa:

Hot dogs and brats:

Hazel going with the flow:

There were lots of kids to play with, and lots close to Cora's age. She's really making some leaps socially recently, and was loving being in the mix.

And Logan was there to be partners in crime with, too:

Boooouuuunce Hooooouuuuse!

To say it was a hit would be an understatement. Cora would like all of her mail forwarded here, as she plans to take up residence. She has no need for food, drink, or sleep, because she has discovered bouncing:

Inflatable house . . . ice cream . . . I would like to be a kid again. Just for the summer, maybe:

Jump a bit, exit via slide, run over to enter front door, repeat:

Water balloon toss:

Ashley, Softball Player Extraordinaire, is a ringer. She, with her
coach dad, can win this thing with one
arm tied behind her back leg in a soft cast.

Baggo (or Cora's version of it, slam-dunk Baggo):

A little rest and gossip for the cousins:

Sack races!

Cora gets to reenact part of her
favorite Sesame Street clip of all time. (If you ever watch it with her, she will
insist you to sing along.) The adults are helping the four-and-under heat. Grandma, in black, has hold of Cora, there:

Babe in arms. "What do you think of all this, Hazel?" "Hnnnnn Eehhhhhhh."

Cora and Grandpa in the three-legged race:
And Cora and Grandma showing
their three-legged race form:

Grandparents and grandtoddlers and a bag of plastic bugs:
It was a great time.

It does look as though they enjoyed it as much as I did.
It is intersting how we folks actually STARTED our community. And amazing that our children and children's children have continued in this fellowship.
The kids are fun!
