When I first put it in there, she groped around blindly for a minute, clear that something was amiss up there but unsure what, and didn't happen to find the barrette. So it stayed.
Subsequent attempts at applying a barrette have been unsuccessful. It could be ages before she allows something to stay in her hair undisturbed again. 
Also note she's using a spoon now, to great effect and much enjoyment.

Those are priceless pictures! She is clearly not over joyed in the first one.
She has a georgeous smile in the other two though. A spoon is another mile stone. Surely she will develop a fondness for her apperance.
If she had the slightest idea how adorable that barrette was, she'd bring it to you and never pull it out. I had some catching up to do, and this one is the best. Love that smile.
