Six Months

Half of our first year together gone already! Wow. At her pediatrician appointment this morning she was found to be healthy as a horse.

As I suspected, her lack of rolling (still no front-to-back rolling, and she's only rolled back-to-front a handful of times over the past month) is not a problem in light of all of the other skills she's doing great on. In fact, after examining her, the ped said her muscle tone is actually very good.

She's holding her growth curve at 50th percentile for weight, 96th for height, and 90th for head circumference--15.5 pounds and 27.5 inches.

She cried like a big girl at getting her shots. Instead of the blind confused squall of a tiny baby, she sobbed and couldn't catch her breath and burrowed into my neck afterward. Growing up is so hard, poor kid.

Hard to believe a year ago I wasn't even showing, by the end of the summer she was causing my belly to wedge against the edge of my desk, and now I've got to make sure she doesn't bump her head against the desk when she falls asleep in my lap . . .
